Puppy Introductions

Grooming should be made a priority during the developmental and socialisation period, being comfortable whilst being groomed is especially important for the higher maintenance breeds. Puppy Introductions are shorter grooming sessions, allowing the pup time to explore and process the environment.

Nail Trimming

Trimming a dogs nails is a necessary part of good animal husbandry and completes a healthy grooming routine. Excessively long nails can affect the way your dog moves, putting stress on joints and increasing the risk of arthritis. Long nails can begin to curl back into the dogs pads resulting in pain and an increased risk of infection.

De-Shedding

De-shedding a dog to remove loose hair is an important dog grooming practice that can benefit your dogs health and reduce the amount of hair flying around the home. De-shed treatments are popular during the spring and summer seasons, removing loose undercoat built up over the winter months allows the skin and coat to breath greatly benefitting the health and wellbeing of your dog.

Pet Trims

Busy family life, active pets and the British weather don’t always make for an easy maintenance coat. Clipping the coat to a shorter length (breed dependant) can reduce your weekly homecare routine, speed up the drying process and help you to avoid a matted, uncomfortable coat.

Breed Standard Trims

As defined by the Kennel Club Guidelines, a trim that enhances the profile and shape of the breads appearance.

Hand-Stripping

Hand-Stripping is the correct way to groom a wire coated breed, the removal of dead topcoat by hand will create space for new coat to grow in, resulting in a much more natural look. It is important to note that the texture of a dogs coat can be strongly affected by genetics, whether the dog has been spayed or neutered, the dogs age, breed and coat type. Neutering alone can result in a much softer coat, it is sometimes possible to work with a softer coat but it is often recommended to consider moving across to clipping.
